PORTLAND — An internationally recognized artist known for projecting text onto buildings around the world is coming to Maine’s largest city.

Jenny Holzer of New York City will project the words of dissident Polish poet Wislawa Szymborska (Vis-LAH’-ha sim-BORS’-kah), 1996 winner of the Nobel Prize, onto the brick exterior walls of the Portland Museum of Art.

The free, public event is called “For Portland.” It begins at 7 p.m. tonight.
