SCARBOROUGH — York High scored twice in the first five minutes and went on to a 3-1 victory over Greely in the Class B West Region field hockey championship Tuesday afternoon at the Mitchell Sports Complex at Scarborough High.
The top-seeded Wildcats (16-1) move on to the Class B state title game Saturday at the University of Maine.
Third-seeded Greely is finished at 12-5.
York, which beat Greely twice during the regular season, took a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Chelsea Morley and Shelby Spencer.
The Rangers countered with a goal at 21:07 of the first half, by Eliza Porter.
But York increased its pressure and Becka Sarson scored with 32 seconds left in the half, completing the scoring.
