CORNISH — The Rev. and Mrs. Robert Irish were recently honored for 50 years of service with a program and reception at the Hilltop Baptist Church.

The Rev. Irish, who is also known as “Pastor Bob” in the surrounding community, received a plaque from New Brunswick Bible Institute, where he graduated in 1960, that recognized his steadfastness and faithfulness to the ministry.

More than 150 people attended the program, which featured special music by the couple’s granddaughter and a slide show of the couple’s life that was presented by their daughter-in-law. A speaker from New Brunswick Bible Institute was also on hand.
