A new poll by Rasmussen Reports released today has Republican gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage at 45 percent, Democrat Libby Mitchell at 27 percent and independent Eliot Cutler at 14 percent.

The survey of 500 likely voters was conducted Monday. The sampling error is +/-4.5 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence. Ten percent are undecided, with 4 percent preferring some other candidate. The poll did not ask about independents Shawn Moody or Kevin Scott.

A poll released Sunday by MaineToday Media had LePage, the mayor of Waterville, with 38 percent, Mitchell at 25 percent and Cutler at 11 percent, with 21 percent undecided.
