KITTERY — Dean Scontras will put on his running shoes as he campaigns for Maine’s 1st Congressional District seat.

Scontras is running from Kittery to Portland this August, a distance of 57 miles. His campaign says he’ll run seven miles every other day.

Scontras, a Republican, is trying to unseat Democratic Rep. Chellie Pingree.

Campaign Manager Jan Love says Scontras is planning another run for September. Details of that run haven’t been released.
