Hot Ticket: Not illegal to miss the POPS (but it should be)
A SURE SIGN of summer’s arrival, it’s time again for the Kingfield POPS, one of western Maine’s leading cultural events. Saturday’s concert in Kingfield features the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and guest soloist Suzanne Nance, along with Greg Boardman and his fiddling sons, and the Gawler family of Belgrade, who will present some of Maine’s best traditional and contemporary acoustic music. The evening ends with fireworks.

Cheap Thrill: Ahhh – classical music to chill by
ONE LONGFELLOW SQUARE in Portland continues its classical music series with the Decompression Chamber Orchestra at 6 p.m. Monday. Piotr Buczek, Colin Davis, Mark Berger and Decompression Chamber Music creator Priscilla Hayes Taylor bring talent and humor together for a relaxing early-evening of classical music, as you have never heard it before. Grab a drink and a dollop of culture on your way home from work.
