Incumbent York County Sheriff Maurice Ouellette won Tuesday’s Democratic primary with 54 percent of the vote.

Ouellette was challenged by Paul Main of Alfred, a former deputy and detective with the department.

Ouellette now faces Republican Craig Gagne in November’s general election.
