Justin M. Lyons recently completed the NROTC training at California Maritime Academy and was commissioned as an ensign in the Navy Reserve. He is the son of Matt Lyons and Cindy Lyons of Temecula, Calif., and formerly of Portland. Lyons was awarded the Naval Officer’s Sword for leadership as the cadet commanding officer. He will report to Virginia to train with the Military Sealift Command.

 

Navy Seaman Recruit Richard M. Baker, son of Susan and Gary Baker of Freeport, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. Ill. Baker is a 2005 graduate of Freeport High School.
