Game wardens have determined nobody else was hurt in the early morning ATV crash that sent to people to the hospital.

A man and a woman had been watching the Red Sox-Yankees, opening day baseball game at the ATV driver’s house and were riding to a home on West Shore Drive when they crashed into a tree. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The driver, Ben Chapman, 20, of Lebanon received head and internal injuries and the passenger, Carly Hartnett, 19 of Lebanon, received head, neck and back injuries, authorities said.

Authorities initially thought another ATV may have crashed and others were injured but that turned out to be false.

The pair that were injured in the 1  a.m. crash were taken to Goodall Hospital in Sanford where they are being treated, authorities said.

Authorities planned to search this morning for victims of an ATV crash in Lebanon following a choatic search and rescue overnight.

Rescuers got a call for an injured person at West Shore Drive, a dirt camp road. An injured woman had made her way out of the woods and directed crews to an injured male at the scene of an ATV crash, where the four-wheeler had crashed into a tree. Both were teenagers and neither was wearing a helmet, authorities said.

The pair said there were other people who were hurt in a separate crash, but although investigators found evidence of another crash with injuries, they could not find those involved.

A nighttime search with a thermal imaging camera was unsuccessful and workers planned to resume the search this morning. It appears the people involved in the other crash may have left so rescuers are checking with area hospitals, said Lebanon Assistant Rescue Chief Jason Cole.

The Warden Service and State Police are investigating, he said. The two people who were rescued are hurt but do not have life threatening injuries.
