Rodeo Du Ruisseau stepped to the fastest time of the 2009 Maine harness season on June 27 as the often-claimed pacer confidently ascended up to the $6,000 Scarborough Open-level in a sizzling 1:54.4 speed show.
Shawn Gray engineered his third driving win on the program behind Rodeo Du Ruisseau after reacquiring the upward-bound pacer via the Bangor Raceway claim box last weekend. The seven-year-old son of Yankee Cam had in fact changed hands for the $15,000 claiming price in each of his three previous starts.
Now owned by William Hart of Carmel, and safe for the time being from would be claimers, the well-traveled pacer can sleep well in familiar surroundings – returning tonight to the stall from which he embarked this morning for the first time in over a month.
Scarborough Downs features live harness racing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 4:30 p.m. The Sunday matinees feature a 1:30 p.m. post time.
