History lesson
Second-grade students at Prides Corner School in Westbrook recently toured the boyhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in Portland.
The visit was made possible through a grant from the Maine Education Association, which also provided books of Longfellow poetry for the school’s library.
Davis on duty
Lcdr Wendy Davis works for the U.S. Public Health Service assigned to the U.S. Marshal Service as national limited duty case manager.
Davis recently completed a master’s program of science in public health. She is the daughter of Kenneth Davis of Westbrook and the late Ann Davis.
Lcdr Davis and her husband and three daughters live in Washington, D.C.
WHS class of ’56 plans luncheon
The Westbrook High School class of 1956 is having a luncheon at Keeley the Katerers on Friday, July 24.
Everyone is invited, including friends and members of other classes. The cost is $17 per person and reservations are required no later than Monday, June 15.

Clarrage earns degree
Amanda Clarrage recently graduated magna cum laude from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla.
She earned her bachelor of science in exercise science and health promotion. After completing her internship at Duke University in Durham, N.C., she has sought employment and plans to further her education in Houston, Texas.
Clarrage is a 2005 graduate of Westbrook High School.
