Morse High School students
award grants to nonprofits
BATH — Students in the Jobs for Maine’s Graduates program at Morse High School awarded two $500 grants to local youth-serving nonprofits, ArtVan and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The JMG students learn about philanthropy firsthand through the program, which is a collaborative project with Jumpstart Our Youth, Unity Foundation, Maine Community Foundation and UniTel, Inc.
Ottow chosen for Chinese
Bridge Delegation
TOPSHAM — Josh Ottow, Mt. Ararat High School assistant principal, was recently accepted to participate in the
2009 Chinese Bridge Delegation.
He will travel to China in late June for a one-week educational tour to learn about Chinese culture and language.
Students earn recognition
from middle school
TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat Middle School named students of the month for April based on teacher nominations.
Garrett Gelwick was nominated by Beth Ann Nickerson as the sixth grade student of the month.
Sam Gosslin earned the seventh grade student of the month nomination based on recognition from his south teachers.
Caroline Carrigan was nominated by Sarah Dawson as the eighth grade student of the month.
