Adams, Cooper engagement
Stella and Phillip Dalrymple of Portland and William Adams of Laurel, Md., have announced the engagement of their son, Dr. Todd C. Adams of Medford, Mass., to Dian N. Cooper of Weymouth, Mass.
Dian is the daughter of Gina and Mark Davis of Monks Corner, S.C., and William Cooper of Atlanta, Ga.
Todd is a 1989 graduate of Westbrook High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Southern Maine and graduated from Boston University Medical with a degree in radiation oncology. He will be doing his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
Dian is a graduate of Oxford Hills High School. She received her associate’s degree from Bay State College, Boston, Mass., and her bachelor’s from Simmons College in Boston. She works for the American Cancer Society as the manager of Hope Lodge in Boston.
A June wedding is planned.
Yard sale
The annual yard sale at Mill Brook Estate, 300 E. Bridge St., Westbrook, will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23.
The sale at the senior citizens’ center will have individual tables. Coffee, doughnuts, tea, soda, hot dogs and chips will be available.
Food pantry drive
Residents are reminded to drop off food donations for the Westbrook Food Pantry at Food Central at CCB Inc., 65 Bradley Drive, Westbrook.
“Let’s have a really big month going into the summer, remember food pantries typically have many donations during the holiday season, but are often forgotten during the summer when everyone’s barbecuing and enjoying the warm weather. Let us not forget, and do a little extra for the next few months,” said Tim Layne of CCB, the construction firm.
Westbrook Community Food Drive will have a booth at Westbrook Together Days on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6. Volunteers are needed to help staff the booth. For more information, contact Layne at 464-2626 ext. 229.
‘Walk for Wishes’ May 28
The Make-A-Wish FoundationA?® of Maine hosts its ninth annual “Walk for Wishes” on Thursday, May 28, at nine locations across Maine, including Westbrook.
The Walk will start from the Riverwalk. Registration and entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. and the walk will begin at 6 p.m. Other locations include Auburn, Dennysville, Houlton, Bangor, Pittsfield, Rockland, Saco and York.
More than 800 children with life-threatening illnesses in Maine have received their greatest wish since the chapter opened its doors in 1992. Out of these wishes, 230 have been for children right here in Cumberland County. Prizes will be awarded to individuals and teams who collect more than $200 in pledges. Adults who raise at least $100 and youths under 18 who raise at least $50 will receive a free T-shirt.

Dance center recital
Drouin Dance Center of Westbrook presents its annual recital, “Dancing Through the Decades” on Saturday, May 30, at South Portland High School with shows at 2:30 and 7 p.m.
The students performing are from Westbrook, Windham, Gorham, Raymond, Standish, Buxton, Portland, South Portland, Falmouth, Scarborough, Yarmouth, Saco and Dayton.
Ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, musical theater and more will be featured among songs from the 1890s to present. Tickets are $14in advance through Saturday, May 23; $16 at the door.
