Two top Bowdoin track athletes competed in a postseason meet in Massachusetts and the awards keep on coming for those who took part in spring sports.

Bowdoin’s Shemeica Burns and Anna Ackerman competed at the ECAC championships last week at Springfield College. Burns was third in the discus (39.40 meters) and also scored in the discus with a throw of 12.60, just .15 meters off her school-record. Ackerman ran in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and was 14th (11 minutes, 45.85 seconds).

Awards

Four Bowdoin baseball players were named to the NESCAC second-team. Catcher Reid Auger, third baseball Brett Gorman, pitcher Joe Pace and second baseman/outfielder Kevin Zikaras were all selected.

Jamie Neely of the men’s tennis team was named the Northeast Regional recipient of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Division III Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award.

Sarah D’Elia, a standout from the women’s tennis team, was named the Division III Northeast Region Senior Player of the Year by the ITA, becoming the first Bowdoin player to ever receive the honor.

Two Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse players have been selected to play in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s North/South Senior All-Star game this Friday in Cambridge, Mass. Seniors Boomer Repko and Bryan Holden have been chosen and will be part of this weekend’s collegiate lacrosse festivities.
