Shaw, Prulello engaged
Jonathan and Donna Shaw of Gorham are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Shaw, to Joseph Prulello.
Prulello is the son of Joseph Prudello of King of Prussia, Pa., and M.J. Prulello, Gilbertsville, Pa.
Jennifer Shaw, a graduate of Gorham High School in 1999, graduated magna cum laude from Temple University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She is working at Citizens Bank and the Bahama Breeze Restaurant.
Prulello graduated from Boyertown High School in Pennsylvania and is a salesman at Concordville Nissan in Glen Mills, Pa.
A wedding is planned for September 2010.
Historians to meet
The Gorham Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 11, in the operations center of the Gorham Savings Bank on Gray Road.
A speaker from the Maine Military Museum in South Portland will present the program.
Call for parade units
Gorham Memorial Post 10879 of the VFW and Gorham Recreation Department are developing plans for a parade and ceremonies on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.
Don Veilleux, a spokesman for the VFW post, said the Gorham Village parade would begin at 11 a.m. The parade will form at 10 a.m. on Lincoln Street. Unlike past years, there won’t be a parade in Little Falls this year.
Cindy Hazelton, director of Gorham Recreation Department, said a ride in the parade would be available for any veteran. Units and individuals wishing to participate in the parade should call Gorham Recreation Department at 222-1630.
Rancourt graduates Air Force training
Air Force Airman Joshua M. Rancourt recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Rancourt completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Rancourt graduated in 2004 from Westbrook High School. He is the son of Melissa Rancourt of Sandy Terrace, Gorham.
U.S. taxpayer debt
The Bureau of Public Debt reported on April 29 that the U.S. public debt was $11,152,922,414,388.28.
