Masonic open house
Hiram Davis, master of Harmony Lodge in Gorham, has announced that the 17th Masonic District will host an open house 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the Masonic Temple, 415 Congress St., Portland.

In Touch Massage Therapy, 31 Main St., is open for business in Gorham Village.
Liz Berks of In Touch Massage Therapy said she has worked more than 20 years as a massage therapist and is now a Trager practitioner.
Berks said the Trager approach is a method of teaching self-care through a few simple principles and movements called mentastics, which are easy to learn and do by receiving Trager sessions.

Peightal meets with Pingree
Patricia Peightal of Around the World Travel in Gorham was one of five business owners who met with U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, in Portland on Friday to voice support for a public health care plan.
“Health insurance is one of the largest single costs, is probably the largest single cost, that I have as a business owner,” Peightal said in a statement released by the Maine Small Business Coalition.
The meeting was organized by the coalition, which comprises more than 1,800 small business owners and entrepreneurs. The five business owners thanked Pingree for supporting the option of a public health care plan.
“I really appreciate you coming here today,” Pingree said. “Small businesses are a crucial part of the economy in Maine and as a small business owner myself, I know how hard it is to pay the health care costs of your employees.”
Garden club reminder
Ann Miles, a master gardener, will speak at the Gorham Garden Club meeting 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, in the First Parish Church, 1 Church St.
