The former Westbrook business owner who was arrested on drug charges in November will appear in Superior Court for a hearing Friday.
Abbas Al-Hamdany, 38, the former owner of Friendly Discount on Main Street, appeared in court April 17, but his case was continued due to a request for a change of lawyer, which was granted to him. Attorney Joel Vincent had been representing Al-Hamdany until then. Al-Hamdany was charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine in November, as well as violating conditions of release.
According to a Superior Court clerk, a hearing on the charge of violating conditions of release will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. As of Tuesday, she said, a date had not yet been set for a hearing on the drug charges.
