I heard that Pike has applied to blast 25 times in the upcoming season. Then on public radio I heard their manager say they will blast 12 times. Which is it? And why are they allowed to blast at all this season, as there is a lot of talk about whether they have any legal right to blast at all.
They can claim that their blasting has happened at least once a year to keep the grandfathered rights, but I can say that we have lived in our house since May of 1995, and I have been home all day since December of 1999, and up until two years ago I never felt or heard any blasting.
I have been following this issue, as I live in the next-door neighborhood. It matters to me a lot how much they are allowed to blast because when they do blast my whole house shakes and I can see the damage not only to my house, but to my street which is now cracked.
I do not think anyone should be able to do anything if there is a question about whether they have legal rights or not. I suggest that while this debate is ongoing, Pike not be allowed to blast at all.
