Jason Beever of the C.E. Carll Agency in Gorham has been tapped by the Maine Insurance Agents Association to serve as its president for 2009-2010.
Beever joined his father at C.E. Carll, a family business that bears the name of his great-grandfather Clarence E. Carll, in 1992, and purchased the agency in 1994. He earned the Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designation in 1995, and the Certified Insurance Councilor (CIC) designation in 1996.
He is past president of the Westbrook Gorham Rotary Club and serves on several boards of directors.
A 1983 graduate of Gorham High School, Beever was a paratrooper in the 1/509 Airborne Battalion Combat Team in Italy. He attended the University of Maine at Orono from 1989 to 1992, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
Beever lives with his wife, Linda, in Windham. He is an avid angler and hunter, and enjoys boating, golf and being outdoors. His columns about the outdoors are printed regularly in the Gorham Times.
