FALMOUTH — Marcella Davis Wilson, 87, died April 7 at Falmouth by the Sea.
She was born in Machias on June 8, 1921, the daughter of Calvin Leon and Alice E. (McLaughlin) Davis.
She graduated from Washington State Teachers College and later received her master’s degree from the University of Maryland.
The majority of her teaching career was spent in the schools of Baltimore, Md., until she retired after 37 years in 1977.
She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. In later years, she was a member of Woodfords Club and Falmouth Garden Club.
She was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Lt. Charles W. Graham, Edward E. Maxwell, Irving Hall, and Donald Janicula.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James W. Wilson; a sister, Laura A. Maxwell of Pittsfield; sister-in-law Peggy Janicula of Glen Burnie, Md., nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Monday April 20 at the West Kennebec Cemetery, Machias.
Arrangements are by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland.
