Organizers are pleased with turnouts at two events last weekend in Gorham – one at the University of Southern Maine and the other at YourSpace..
Dede Perkins, executive director of Gorham Business & Civic Exchange, said the 12th annual Marketplace held Saturday at the University of Southern Maine was one of the biggest ever. But Perkins didn’t have exact numbers.
Perkins said feedback from the vendors indicated they were busier than ever. “The food court was packed,” Perkins said.
Gina Perry of Downeast Show Promotions of Westport Island, which produces the Maine Home and Garden Show, said she was thrilled with this year’s three-day event held at YourSpace, the sports dome on Narragansett Street,
“The show turned out great,” Perry said this week. “We estimate over 5,000 people through the doors.”
Perry said attendance could have been “substantially” more, but parking was a problem.
Sandy Warren, general manager at YourSpace, said Tuesday she, too, was pleased with results of the show. Warren said 95 vendors participated.
