GHS alumni at Marketplace
The Gorham High School Alumni Association will have a booth again this year at Marketplace 2009 on Saturday, March 28, at Costello Field House on the Gorham campus at University of Southern Maine. It’s an opportunity for Gorham grads to stop by the alumni booth and say hello. Sue Parsons is organizing the booth and she can be reached at 839-4447.
Dinner theater at First Parish
The Adult Fellowship at First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., is sponsoring a dinner theater program on Saturday, March 28, in the fellowship hall.
At 6 p.m., a dinner with a chicken and vegetable dish, vegetarian dish and baked dessert will be served.
The Fenix Theater Group at 7 p.m. will perform “The Rude Mechanicals,” selections from Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The group presents free park plays in the summer in Portland.

Gardeners to hear Golan
Betsy Golan will speak when the Gorham Garden Club meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at the First Parish Church, 1 Church St. The herbalist at Shaker Gardens, Golan will present a program about herbs. The public is invited.
On dean’s list
Monique A. Hammith has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, Mass. Hammith is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree and will graduate in May. She is the daughter of Milton and Wanda Hammith of Gorham.
Grant S. Goodrich of Gorham was named to second honors on the dean’s list at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
U.S. taxpayer debt
The Bureau of Public Debt reported on March 18 that the U.S. public debt was $11,034,225,094,391.03.
