In a recent ceremony at Bonny Eagle High School, six seniors, five juniors, and two sophomores were inducted into the National Honor Society.
The new senior members are: Kimberly Dubois, Kai Good, Shannon Jacobson, Stephanie Lombardo, Jennifer Reaves, and Lauren Wallace. The new juniors are: Brianna Brooks, Connie Grovo, Robert Michaud, Whitney Porter, and Cori Simmons. The new sophomores are: Pauline Adams and Uriah Ellinger.
National Honor Society President Zachary Litif gave the welcoming remarks. Stacy Sullivan, vice president, spoke about scholarship; while Gregory Yum, secretary, spoke about service; Karli Keeson, treasurer, spoke about leadership; and Andrea Ballute, historian, spoke about character. Certificates were presents to the new members by Principal Beth Shultz. The Honorary Faculty member was Robert Hunt. The NHS Advisor is Jennifer Simonoff.
New National Honor Society members are as follows:
Kimberly Dubois is the daughter of David and Debbie Dubois from Hollis. Kimberly is involved in the Fight Against Cancer Society, Academic Mentoring, and Natural Helpers. She is the president of Student Council and a senior competition member, instructor, and competition coach at her dance studio. She volunteers at Wayside Soup Kitchen and works at Tory Hill Cafa in Buxton.
Kai Good is the son of Scott Good of Steep Falls. Kai has done missionary work all around the world, is the first chair attorney for the BEHS Mock Trial team and is a member of the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Shannon Jacobson is the daughter of Gayle and William Brown of Limington. Shannon is the editor in chief of the Eagle Times, the treasurer of the Fight Against Cancer Society, a student mentor, a varsity tennis player, a youth group counselor, vacation bible school director and a sunday school teacher.
Stephanie Lombardo is the daughter of Santo and Debbie Lombardo of Standish. Stephanie is a member of varsity field hockey, lacrosse and indoor track, as well as the Fight Against Cancer Society. She has been the secretary of the Class of 2009 since her freshman year.
Jennifer Reaves is the daughter of Scott Reaves of Westbrook and Stephanie Reaves of Buxton. Jennifer is involved in Medical Explorers, academic mentoring, the Fight Against Cancer Society, National Foreign Language Honor Society, and the Eagle Times.
Lauren Wallace is the daughter of Chris and Stephen Wallace of Standish. Lauren is involved in student mentoring, T-Cell, the Fight Against Cancer Society, and is a captain of the indoor track team.
Brianna Brooks is the daughter of Alanna Vieira and Richard Brooks. Brianna is the president of Thespian Society, the secretary of World War II Veterans to Washington, D.C., and is involved in Key Club, FACS, and Natural Helpers. She would like to thank her family and friends for all of their support.
Connie Grovo is the daughter of Robin and Jeff Grovo of Limington. Connie is involved in varsity softball and soccer year-round, and she has earned a tri-captain spot on the softball team. She also is involved in community service.
Robert Michaud is the son of Bob and Tammy Michaud of Limington. Bobby is involved in the Eagle Times and Student Council and challenges himself with difficult classes.
Whitney Porter is the daughter of Randy and Susan Porter of Buxton. Whitney is involved in varsity soccer, softball, and basketball. She always tries hard to keep people on task.
Cori Simmons is the daughter of Christopher Simmons of Standish. Cori is involved in cross country, indoor and outdoor track, Robotics, National History Day, Amnesty International, The Green Light, Model United Nations, and the Regional Fine Arts program.
Pauline Adams is the daughter of Ron and Sheryl Adams of Buxton. Pauline is involved in 4H and is the secretary of the International Club.
Uriah Eilinger is the son of Richard and Patricia Eilinger of Hollis. Uriah is involved in the Naval Junior ROTC, swims for the Westbrook Seals, and is the president of the Aviation Explorer Post 135 Black Cats. Uriah has played the piano for 10 years and hopes to attend the United States Naval Academy.
Bonny Eagle High School recently inducted 13 new members in the National Honor Society.
