In their first-ever meet at St. Joseph’s College, the Windham Eagles boys and girls swim teams swept a meet with Bonny Eagle on Dec. 5.
Windham’s girls beat the Scots 110-40 and the Windham boys topped Bonny Eagle 71-44.
Windham had a huge girls meet, sweeping all 11 events, setting six school records in the process. Windham swimmers set records in: the 200 medley relay, the team of Elaine Miller, Bronte Sone, Ashley Crocker, McKayla Eskilson finished in 2:09.77; the 200 IM, Eskilson finished in 2:41.15; Crocker set a school record in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 1:13.58; Miller posted a Windham record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.33; Sone finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.36 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Crocker, Miller, Eskilson and Kirstin Russell set the school record with a time of 4:19.49.
Bonny Eagle was lead by strong performances from Aisling McGrath (200 IM, 100 back) and Dani Wyman (200 free, 500 free).
In the boys meet, Windham set a school record in the 200 medley relay as the team of Lance Webster, Nathan Paluso, Alex Gilvey, and Bryndon Page finished in 1:53.92. The Windham boys also set a school record in the 50 free as Gilvey finished in 25.55.
Webster (200 free, 100 fly), Paluso (200 IM, 500 free), Gilvey (50 free, 100 free) and Ryan Page (100 breaststroke) were event winners for the Eagles while Greg Judge of Bonny Eagle won the 100 back and helped lead the Scots to victory in the 200 free and 400 free relays. Greg Yum of Bonny Eagle posted strong swims in the 50 free, 100 free and the winning Bonny Eagle relays.
