The Westbrook Chamber of Commerce and the city of Westbrook are sponsoring the annual “Halloween on Main Street” event on Thursday from 4:30-6 p.m.

A parade along Main Street begins at 5 p.m., and a costume contest will be held at 5:30.

The portion of Main Street between Spring and Saco streets will be closed to vehicular traffic during this time.

Children are invited to trick or treat at businesses along the street. In past years, hundreds of children and parents have participated in the popular event.
