Expanded archery season (designated areas only): Sept. 6-Dec. 13
Statewide archery season: Oct. 2-31
Youth deer hunting day: Oct. 25
Maine residents only day: Nov. 1
Firearms season: Nov. 3-29
Muzzleloader: Dec. 1-6 and Dec. 8-13 (certain areas only)
Moose
In newly designated areas: Nov. 3-29
Maine residents only day: Nov. 1
When posting private land, owners can prohibit specific uses, allow use by permission only or prohibit all use. Whatever decision a landowner makes, signs should be placed no further than 100 feet apart. It is strongly urged that landowners put their name and address on signs so that people will know who to contact for permission.
