Eight employees of School Administrative District 6 were awarded plaques recently to honor their many years of service to the school district.
Employees who have worked in the district for 35 years include Nancy Ezhaya, an English teacher at Bonny Eagle High School; Robin Hulit, a third-grade teacher at Edna Libby School in Standish; Brenda Merritt, a third-grade teacher at Steep Falls Elementary School in Steep Falls; Margaret Levasseur, a physical education teacher at Bonny Eagle Middle School; Raymond Wynne, an eighth-grade teacher at Bonny Eagle Middle School; and Ansel Stevens, the principal of Bonny Eagle Middle School.
Lawrence Beam was honored for 40 years of service with SAD 6. He is a seventh-grade teacher at Bonny Eagle Middle School. His creativity and practical experience were employed to help design the science labs now being used at Bonny Eagle Middle School. Beam is at a point in his career where he can boast of touching the lives of three generations of some families.
Dorothy O’Donnell has worked in the school district for 45 years. She is a second-grade teacher at Edna Libby School and has taught multiple generations of children in the district.
Ginny Day, principal at Edna Libby, said, “Dot is like everybody’s
mother on the Edna Libby staff. Only one person in the district can really claim her as mom, and that is Deb Howard (the assistant principal at Bonny Eagle Middle School), but the rest of us go to her for advise, history of the district, and so on. She most certainly has dedicated her life to the SAD 6 community.”
