A Westbrook man was arrested and charged with breaking into three cars in the city early Saturday morning.

Police located Brian York, 18, hiding behind a building on Main Street in Westbrook at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

After receiving a report of a motor vehicle burglary on Foster Street, police found three other cars broken into on Cloudman Street and Main Street.

Police said they found all of the items reported missing from the vehicles, including wedding rings, electronic devices and cigarettes, in York’s possession.

Police urge residents to lock their cars and report any person lurking around vehicles at night.
