Junior Drum-Yankee Brigade Bugle Corps at 884 Main St.,

and Kourapis Fruit Store and Restaurant, occupying 888 Main St.

Central Street intersected Main Street alongside Kourapis.

The vacant lot was the site of the Star Theatre, which had been recently demolished, and the building in the right of the photo was the American Legion Post No. 197, which was also slated for demolition under the urban renewal project. The photo on the right shows this same area at present. Family Dollar Store occupies 880 and 884 Main St., and the Main Street Cafa occupies 888 Main St. (Central Street between Main Street and William Clarke Drive was permanently closed off by urban renewal.) The building in the right of the photo is currently occupied by Martini Lane Beverage & Redemption Store on one side and Hub Furniture Co. on the other side.
