Vacation Bible school
A vacation Bible School will be held 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, through Friday, Aug. 8, at Buxton United Methodist Church, Chicopee Road.
Gayle Page, Bible school director, said the theme for the school is Jerusalem Marketplace. Children ages 4 to 14 are all welcome and nutritious snacks will be provided.

Gillis on dean’s list
Anna M. Gillis has been named to the dean’s list at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., for the spring semester. Gillis is a member of the class of 2009.
Surette receives degree
Noelle Ashley Surette graduated in May from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H. Surette, who majored in exercise and sport sciences, earned a bachelor of science degree.
Honors for Avery
Joshua L. Avery is an honors student at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
A university statement said, “Invitation into the honors program is highly competitive and students must maintain a certain grade point average and strong commitment to campus leadership to remain a part.”
A physical therapy major, Avery was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
