Trio in gazebo concert
The Joan Kennedy Trio will be in concert 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the gazebo on the lawn at Gorham Public Safety, 270 Main St.
The concert is part of a free summer concert series sponsored by Gorham Parks and Recreation Department.

The Baxter Museum is open free to the public 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through August. The museum is next to Baxter Memorial Library, 71 South St.
The museum, built in 1797, was the boyhood home of James Phinney Baxter, who gave it and the library to Gorham 100 years ago. The museum contains period furnishings along with Baxter family and other artifacts from the town.
Dr. Elihu Baxter bought the home in 1812. His son, James Phinney Baxter, became a Portland mayor, and the doctor’s grandson, Percival Baxter, was a Maine governor.
On dean’s list
Andrew Dresser is on the dean’s list for the spring semester at Northeastern University in Boston. Dresser is majoring in music.
On president’s list
Meghan Anne Norton, a sophomore, is on the president’s list at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. The honor recognized Norton for extraordinary academic achievement. Norton is majoring in management.
Church bluegrass service
The Nitpickers will play bluegrass gospel music in a church service at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the gazebo on the lawn at Gorham Public Safety, 270 Main St.
The service is sponsored by the West Gorham Union Church. The Rev. Gary Groves, church pastor, will conduct the service. Additional music at 12:30 p.m. will follow the service and food will be for sale.
U.S. taxpayer debt
The Bureau of Public Debt reported on July 8 that the U.S. public debt was $9,499,788,157,602.61.
