Edith “Virgie” Wright, a long-time Buxton resident with extensive involvement in the town, will have the garden at West Buxton Library named in her honor on Saturday at 2 p.m. Wright, born in Greenville on June 15, 1918, is 90 years old. She married her late husband, Charles, in 1942. He died in 1995 after 53 years of marriage. The couple moved to Buxton in 1953. Wright quickly became involved in the local community, bringing the Girl Scouts to Buxton, starting the Saco Valley Civic Association, a nursery school, and a youth center.
