In celebration of the town of Scarborough’s 350th anniversary, Scarborough Downs is scheduled to hold its $15,000 Midsummer Classic on Friday, July 11.

The live event will feature top pacers from New York and New Jersey competing in the invitational. Post time is slated for 4:15 p.m. Admission is free.

There will also be free tethered hot air balloon rides on the grandstand field from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., weather permitting. The balloon rides will give spectators a bird’s eye view of the track.
