A Westbrook woman who suffered a drug overdose Tuesday was arrested for a probation violation following her release from Maine Medical Center Wednesday.

Malissa Sheridan, 38, of 502 Main St., Apartment 2, was found unresponsive at her residence around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Westbrook Police Capt. Tom Roth. There was evidence of heroin use at the scene, Roth said, and Sheridan was transported to the hospital.

Also present at the time of the incident was Windham resident Katherine M. Haskins, 24, who was found carrying four grams of concealed heroin. Haskins was arrested and charged with drug possession. She has since been released on bail from the Cumberland County Jail, Roth said.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Westbrook Police are continuing to investigate the overdose, Roth said.

Roth said he did not know the details of Sheridan’s probation.
