Police, kids team up to clean up

Students from Canal School, Westbrook High School and Westbrook Regional Vocation Center joined forces with Westbrook police officers Friday to clean up litter in the Canal School neighborhood.

“It’s a great opportunity for our kids to give back to the community,” said Canal Principal Jeremy Ray before using a bullhorn to instruct students gathered on the Canal School lawn.

The students got a hand with the cleanup from Sgt. Mike Sanphy, along with officers Inger Cyr, Phil Hebert and Kathleen Oschlegel.
