Windham cheerleader Carla Dias (center) joined with the rest of the Eagles’ cheering squad to root on the Eagles during the Class A Western boys basketball tournament last month. Besides cheering for the basketball team, the cheerleaders had their own competitions to worry about this season. The Windham cheerleaders finished fourth at the SMAA cheerleading championships this season.

Windham sophomore forward Nick Taylor refuses help getting up from the floor from a Cheverus opponent during the Eagles’ loss to the Stags in the Western Maine Class A quarterfinals at the Portland Expo last month. The Eagles had a solid season, going 9-9 and entering the tournament as the ninth seed. The Eagles upset No. 8 Gorham at home before falling to Cheverus.

Despite breaking her hand in the fifth game of the year and missing much of the season, Windham junior Reilly Graves received honorable mention honors from the SMAA. Graves finished sixth in the league in scoring with 12.9 points per game and first in rebounding with 10.6 boards per game for the Eagles, who finished 4-14 and missed the tournament.
