Bonny Eagle High School Varsity Basketball Coach Rick Simonds was named the Southern Maine Athletic Association Coach of the Year for the 2007-2008 basketball season.

Simonds led the Scots to an 8-10 record and a tournament berth for the fifth straight year. Before coming to the Scots, Simonds spent the previous 24 years at St. Joseph’s College, where he was the director of athletics and head men’s basketball coach. It is the 17th coach of the year award he has earned in 34 years of coaching.
