A Portland Water District crew repairs a broken 12-inch water main early Sunday in Westbrook, closing the section of East Bridge Street between Route 302 and Carlson Street. The leak, which left several homes in the area without water, was discovered about 1 a.m. by Westbrook police. Eastbound traffic on East Bridge Street was detoured from Carlson Street to Austin Street. Crews eventually repaired the pipe and restored service.
