This Friday, indoor track and field athletes from all over New England will gather at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Facility for the 21st Annual New England Interscholastic Indoor Track and Field Championships. Maine will be well represented at the meet.
Bonny Eagle qualified one athlete from the boys’ team and the boys’ 3200 meter relay team. Jamie Ruginski qualified for the meet in the long jump. Ruginski had a jump of 20-7 to get him in the field.
The Scot girls qualified three athletes and their 800-meter relay team. Melissa Carrier and Morgan Costa each qualified in the 55-meter dash. Carrier’s best time was 7.55 seconds and Costa’s was 7.63 seconds. Costa also qualified in the 300-meter dash with a time of 42.91. Lauren Dudley qualified in the two mile with a time of 12:31.99.
Patrick Ciez and Reilly Sullivan qualified to represent Windham High School. Ciez qualified in the boys’ high jump by clearing the bar at six feet this season. Sullivan qualified for the girls’ 600 meters. She turned in a time of 1:42.63 to earn her way into the field.
