The Gray-New Gloucester boys’ ski team finished seventh in the recently completed Class A skiing championships. The Patriots accumulated 411 points in the alpine competition and 275 in the Nordic for a total of 686 points.

Brandon Skilling was the top finisher for the Patriots in the giant slalom with his 18th place run. He finished in a total time of 1:36.68 after his two runs. Darren Brown was next for Gray-New Gloucester with a 56th place run. Tyler Holmquist was 59th and Kyle Rucker was the fourth Patriot finisher in 62nd place. The Patriots earned 199 points in the giant slalom.

In the freestyle, Cameron Ketchen was 23rd to earn the top place among Gray-New Gloucester skiers. He finished in 14:05.6. Brandon Merry was his closest teammate in 33rd. Merry’s time was 15:00.2. Third among Patriot skiers was Holmquist in 38th followed by Ben Schaeffer in 43rd. Gray-New Gloucester picked up 134 points in the freestyle.

The Patriots earned 141 points in the classical. Ketchen was the top finisher for his team, coming in 24th with a time of 16:26.5. Schaeffer was the next Patriot finisher in 33rd. Merry was 40th in 19:58.9 and Lucas Orlando was 47th for the Patriots with a time of 24:25.8.

In the slalom, the Patriots top finisher was Skilling, who was 17th with a time of 1:39.98. Kyle Robbins was the next Gray-New Gloucester finisher in 63rd. He was followed by Darren Brown in 65th and Holmquist in 70th.

The girls of Gray-New Gloucester finished with 172 points in the Nordic competition with 77 coming from the freestyle and 95 in the classical.

Amanda Cormier was the top Patriot in the freestyle. She finished 12th in 15:39.0. Emily Licht was 15th for Gray-New Gloucester with a time of 15:47.0. Third among Patriot girls was Leah Beran in 24th followed by Hannah Wilbur in 26th.

In the classical, Cormier again paced her team with an 18th place finish in 18:38.5. Her closest teammate was Licht in 21st. Her time was 19:28.4. Beran was 27th and Wilbur 29th.
