Westbrook grad kicks for Black Bears

The University of Maine football team completed its season last month with a loss at New Hampshire. Doing the kicking for the Black Bears this fall was Westbrook High School graduate Bobby Donnelly.

The senior ended his collegiate career with another solid season. He was 9 of 11 in field goal attempts and he was a perfect 17 of 17 in extra points. And he actually led the team in scoring with 44 points.

Donnelly also kicked off 42 times for the Black Bears, averaging 55.3 yards per kick with one touchback.

Buxton native leads Colby-Sawyer to hoops win

Noelle Surette of Buxton, a senior at Colby-Sawyer College, scored 17 points to lead the Chargers to a 57-42 win over Castleton State Dec. 4 in New London, N.H.

Surette, who was the leading scorer for Colby-Sawyer in the game, also added eight rebounds.

Surette returns to Maine with the rest of her teammates on Dec. 6 when the Chargers travel to Brunswick to take on Bowdoin at 7:30 p.m.
