Those attending the Baxter Memorial Library centennial kickoff gala Sunday in Gorham were given a bookmark to commemorate the event, as well as tickets for a glass of wine. At far left is Library Director Pam Turner. About 80 people turned out for the event, which included a silent auction of work by local artists, as well as books by local authors and illustrators. A lavish spread was provided by the PineCrest Inn. In addition, local musicians provided background music. All proceeds from centennial events will go to a new endowment fund designed to support the collection at the library.
