When the Rev. Michael Henchal was a child, he had a small hand missal he used at Mass, and on the back cover were embossed the words of Pope St. Pius : “Don’t just pray at Mass, pray the Mass.”
On two consecutive Sundays, Oct. 14 and 21, he will lead a workshop on praying the Mass. The workshops are intended for adults, but children from middle school and above could benefit from them. The first will be held at St. Bartholomew Church, at 4 p.m., and will cover the Liturgy of the Word, ending with a celebration of the Liturgy of the Word and a wine and cheese social. The second will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church at 5 p.m., and will cover the Liturgy of the Eucharist and conclude with the Sunday Mass and a potluck supper.
Participants are urged to bring something to share at the potluck supper if they are coming to the second workshop.
