James Budway is the new Cumberland County emergency management director, replacing the retiring George Flaherty.
Budway, a Scarborough resident, was chosen to represent the county in conjunction with the Maine Emergency Management Agency. He has 27 years’ experience in the U.S. Marine Corps, and is a graduate of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. He recently retired as a lieutenant colonel, having served tours of duty in such places as Iraq, Japan the Philippines and the Pentagon.
Budway, his wife and two children say they are pleased to settle back in his native Maine.
