Ballroom dance on tap

A USA Dance Club sponsored ballroom dance will be held 7-11 p.m., Friday at The Roost, 62 Chicopee Road.

The cost of admission is $12 for non-members and $10 for members.

Admission includes a free beginner lesson from 7-8 p.m. DJ for the evening will be Benjie Taylor of Cool Tunes.

Beginners, singles and couples are welcome. No partner is necessary. Refreshments and light snacks offered.

Phone cards for troops

Carolyn Moore of Buxton and her cousin, James Dyer of Hollis, raised about $600 in a three-day yard sale this past weekend to buy phone cards for deployed troops.

They are interested in acquiring names and addresses of individual troops to send phone cards. Dyer, a veteran, said Monday they are working through the office of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and Rep. Don Marean, R-Hollis, in the effort.

Project Graduation benefit sale

A two-day sale of perennials to benefit Project Graduation 2008 will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, in the Bonny Eagle Middle School parking lot.

Organizers said about 1,400 perennials will be available with prices between $1-$5. Several raffles will be held in conjunction with the sale.
