Breast Cancer Awareness Month kicks off with the sixth annual Cure Breast Cancer for ME fundraising luncheon, Monday, Oct. 1st, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks, South Portland.
The luncheon brings survivors, friends and families together for a time of reflection, a bolstering of spirits, a rally for perseverance, and a cash infusion to help cure a disease that effects hundreds of thousands of men and women every day.
The event will feature videotaped stories from Mainers, and an awards ceremony honoring five Maine men and women who have worked tirelessly to increase awareness of the importance of breast health.
