The Animal Welfare Society of Kennebunk is continuing to work around the clock to ensure that all of the recently seized Buxton puppy mill animals are provided with proper care.
The Animal Refuge League of Westbrook has been working right along side them cleaning kennels, bathing, feeding and watering the neglected pooches since the seizure took place early on Aug. 21.
The Salvation Army has also stepped in with a canteen to supply food for workers and the York County Emergency Management Agency is supplying tents for various work stations.
Several veterinarians have also visited the site, working long hours to ensure sure all the animals are assessed and, if needed, given the proper medication.
The Animal Welfare Society and the Animal Refuge League are asking for monetary donations as well as supplies. Canned dog and puppy food, bedding, dog toys, dog chews and cleaning supplies, like bleach and paper towels, are in great demand.
