The Scarborough Public Library will kick off Library Card Sign-up Month when it reopens its doors to the public on Thursday, Sept. 6.

The library has been closed for three weeks for repairs and upgrades.

All Scarborough residents from infant to senior, all employees working for a Scarborough business and all students attending school in Scarborough are encouraged to sign up for a free library card during the month of September. Existing cardholders should also stop in to make sure their cards are current.

The library will also offer a program to introduce the community to the features added to its newly redesigned Web site. Resources available through MARVEL, Maine’s virtual library, will also be included in the presentation. Demonstrations will be held at 2 and 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 27.
