The Libby-Mitchell American Legion Post 76 baseball team held its annual beach cleanup and team barbecue on Aug. 18 at Pine Point Beach in Scarborough.

Coaches Will Sanborn (far left) and Jim Cronin (far right) oversaw a friendly competition among the boys for who could collect the most trash. Here, the players are pictured with their haul. Attending the annual beach cleanup were Chris Bernard, Kevin Chamberlain, Zack Crouanas, Joe Marry, Casey McKague, Brian Moskevich, Chuck Norton and Steve Scott. Not pictured but present was Tim Coombs, a member of the coaching staff for the newly established Libby-Mitchell Junior American Legion team.

“The team had a tough summer,”said GM Dan Warren. “It would have been easy for the coaches not to hold the beach cleanup. To their credit, they followed through, and got a crew of these young men out to do a good thing for the community.” For information on Libby-Mitchell baseball, contact Warren at 799
