For more information or tickets call 783 3400.
Seastrokes is a group of local painters that is part of an international society known as the Society of Decorative Painters. They come together each month in Westbrook to learn the art of decorative painting. The painters participate during the year by painting boxes for the Memory Box program, a volunteer organization that provides handpainted boxes to families that have lost an infant. These boxes help acknowledge the importance of these brief but precious lives and give the parents a place to put remembrances of their lost child.
Seastrokes paints for 12 Maine hospitals and sends the excess boxes to hospitals across the country. There is never a charge to the hospitals or to the families for these boxes. In order to cover the cost of this program Seastrokes holds its annual auction of items painted by its members.
